Merry Christmas

Here's an image of our tree this year. Almost every ornament on it was sewed by my mom, who uses yarn and mesh relentlessly over the years. (We have boxes of them in our attic.)

One ornament in particular I'm proud of. I won this at the photo contest over at the Wildlife Gardener's Forum.

Another festive goings on is the bus my dad's friend uses. Both he and my dad are members of the fire police, the guys who screw up direct traffic around accidents and downed power lines which is a task fire fighters and police officers don't do. The bus is used as a food truck for them and looks amazing inside, like a mobile kitchen with garnet counter tops, a bathroom, running water, ovens, fridges, freezers, a TV, supplies. Mostly they use it for when they help the town(s) out with parades and holiday events.

  1. Love the bus! Want the bus! My mother-in-law was also a "relentless" ornament maker, using the same mesh and yarn style favored by your mom. If you look carefully at our tree (shown here on my husband's blog: http://writings-djones.blogspot.com/2012/12/this-years-tree.html) you'll see some of them.
